ECee2 is a brand of emergency contraceptive pill containing the active ingredient levonorgestrel. It is used to prevent an unintended pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure and is not for regular, long-term use. 
How to use
  • Take within 72 hours. For best results, take the first 750 µg tablet as soon as possible, but no later than 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex.
  • Take a second tablet. A second 750 µg tablet should be taken 12 hours after the first dose.
  • What if you vomit? If you vomit within two hours of taking a tablet, consult a doctor as another dose may be needed. 
Effectiveness
The effectiveness of ECee2 decreases the longer you wait to take it. According to TF Pharmacy: 
  • Within 24 hours: 95% effective
  • 48 to 72 hours: 58% effective 
Common side effects
Some women may experience side effects after taking ECee2, but these generally clear up by the time of your next period. Common side effects include: 
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Headache
  • Lower abdominal pain
  • Breast tenderness
  • Irregular vaginal bleeding 
Important precautions
  • Not a substitute for regular birth control. ECee2 is for emergency use only and is not meant to replace ongoing contraceptive methods.
  • Does not prevent STDs. This pill offers no protection against sexually transmitted diseases like HIV. Use condoms for STD prevention.
  • Take a pregnancy test if needed. If your period is delayed by more than a week, or if you suspect you might be pregnant, you should take a pregnancy test and consult a doctor.
  • Avoid if pregnant. Do not take ECee2 if you are already pregnant or suspect you might be.
  • Consider an ectopic pregnancy. If you do become pregnant after taking ECee2, an ectopic pregnancy is possible and you should see a doctor immediately.
